I was sad not to see yours in the semifinalists. besides myself, your piece was the one i was rooting for, it seemed like the judging in general was silly as hell, all my favorite pieces didnt make. I still think this was a very awesome piece.

Thanks! I was disappointed not to make it at least to the semi-finalists, but there were so many quality entries, it must have been real hard to make a decision.

IDk. i didnt think there were that many good ones in there..they were bland and its like all these different styles were picked for diversity and not for skill or creativity.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Who knows how they judge those contests. It's not the first time it happens to me. There was even a previous contest for which I didn't win either, but one of the winners shared a part of his price with me cause he felt I should have won. Later, my illustration for that contest was selected as a Daily Deviation (a user had suggested it because she strongly felt I should have won). But, for some reason, it wasn't good enough to make it to the top 3 in the contest.

After each contest I enter, I tell myself that I'm done with contests on DA, but every time there's a cool one, I can't help giving it a try anyway. But I can't complain much, that's what a contest is after all: just a few winners and a lot of deception for many many others.
